Once in a Year Celebrate Romantic Festival Called Valentines Day

Why you should give your loved one Valentines Day flowers. For hundreds of years Valentines Day has been celebrated by lovers everywhere. Where did this traditions start anyway, and why to we exchange Valentines Day flowers and candies with each other? Well, I have done some searching and I have come across some interesting stories that go along with this tradition. Some of these stories may be true and others may be just what their supposed to be-stories. Here is a short version of what may have really been the beginning of sending Valentines Day flowers on Valentines Day.
Why was St. Valentine so important?
About 8 hundred years before V- Day was established, a man named Claudius was in power in Rome. He felt that marriage was a bad thing because it made poor soldiers out of men. So, he banned marriage from his empire. St. Valentine did not agree with this rule, so he would secretly marry couples that came to him. St. Valentine was caught and soon after he was stoned and then beheaded.
Valentine Traditions:- In Wales wooden love spoons were carved and given as gifts on February 14th. Hearts, keys and keyholes were favorite decorations on the spoons. The decoration meant, "You unlock my heart!"
In the middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling. In some countries, a young woman may receive a gift of clothing from a young man. If she keeps the gift, it means she will marry him.
some people used to believe that if a woman saw a robin flying overhead on Valentine's Day; it meant she would marry a sailor. If she saw a sparrow, she would marry a poor man and be very happy. If she saw a goldfinch, she would marry a millionaire. A love seat is a wide chair. It was first made to seat one woman and her wide dress. Later, the love seat or courting seat had two sections, often in an S-shape. In this way, a couple could sit together -- but not too closely!
No matter what is true and what is myth, V- Day has become big business for the flower, card, and candy companies. Many exist only because of this one day a year. If your and man and have a wife or girlfriend, and you let Valentines Day go by without getting her flowers or candy, your going to be in big trouble. So take my advice, but some effort into your gift too. A carefully chosen V-Day card will take you a long way; take it from a woman who knows however, Valentines Day flowers are still your best bet. If you're lucky enough to have someone who loves you on V-Day, then you should show him or her how much they mean to you. Those who give Valentines Day flowers may be a big money making machine for these companies but, this day allows those sometimes are not always able to show their loved ones how much they care. Valentines Day flowers makes it easier for everyone to prove their love and devotion to the one's that love them.

Valentines Flowers Tips for Guys on the Go

Valentines Flowers Tips for Guys on the Go

It's tough to be romantic when you're on the go, working 12 hours a day, and juggling mulitple priorities. No wonder that on a romance scale of 1 to 10, only 19% of women rate their boyfriend, husband, or significant other a 7 or higher. But, wait guys; there's help. Even if you're on the go, you can boost your romance quotient this Valentines. Here's how.
Don't fret about choosing the right gift.
Flowers are still the most desired gift from an admirer and to express love. They're personal, romantic, and according to researchers at Rutgers University, actually raise peoples spirits. In one study with 147 women of varying ages, those who received flowers smiled significantly more than those who received other gifts. Fresh, colorful flowers evoke happy feelings. Other studies indicate that flowers actually improve emotional health and make people feel more connected. According to professor Jeannette Haviland-Jones, PhD, "The phrase 'stop and smell the roses' may have a touch of genius in it."
Order early.
Sending Valentines flowers is fast and easy! There are wonderful local florists in virtually every town, as well as dozens of leading online florists that deliver nationwide. And, ordering only takes a few minutes. So, don't let your busy schedule get in the way. Just pick up the phone or shop online. But, remember, Valentines is the "Superbowl" of flower holidays, with five to ten times the normal volume of deliveries. So, for the best selection, service, and pricing, it's best to order early. You'll be glad you did.
Sending flowers to where she works?
That's a great idea. It can brighten her whole week, she'll be reminded of you every time she looks at them, and co-workers comments are a big plus, too. But, here's a helpful tip from Romeos in the know. With million of deliveries on Valentine's Day, flowers can arrive almost anytime. So, play it safe. Ask for delivery the day before Valentine's. That way your gift will be even more of a pleasant surprise and is sure to be enjoyed throughout all of Valentine's Day. In other words, you look like you were planning ahead and avoid any risk of your gift looking like a last-minute afterthought.
There's more to Valentines than just red roses.
While beautiful long-stem red roses are still the most popular Valentine's flower gift, there are lots of other options for every taste and budget. Many women prefer pretty pastel roses in pink, peach, yellow, or assorted spring colors. They can make you stand out from the crowd. And, almost half of all Valentine's bouquets aren't roses at all; they're lush mixed bouquets and spring flowers such as tulips. Choosing something unique can show you remember your sweetheart's favorite color or flower. Your favorite florist will have a great selection and can quickly help you with the best choice.
Remember flowers after Valentine's too.
What's the best way for a man to make a lasting impression on a woman? Research shows that the answer to making a memorable impact is right under his nose -- with flowers. Ninety-two percent of women can remember the last time they received flowers, and 89% agree that receiving flowers makes them feel special. "If the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, then the pathway to a woman's heart is through her other senses," says Rebecca Cole, of Discovery Channel's Surprise By Design. "Flowers are a sensual gift that can express any emotion so simply - with just a little knowledge and a phone call to your florist." And, flowers given for no special reason may be the most special of all. So, light a fire with flowers this Valentine's. And, keep it burning with a surprise gift of flowers anytime throughout the year.

Say it With Flowers This Valentine's Day

Say it With Flowers This Valentine's Day
Valentines Day is not merely a day for gifting but also the day that upholds the importance of the celebration of love. It is the perfect occasion to convey messages of love, affection and admiration for special people in our lives.  Valentine flowers are particularly beautiful as they signify hidden messages. Roses feature as the predominant flower ideally gifted to loved ones on this special day. The messages conveyed on Valentines Day depend on the color and type of the chosen flowers.

The importance of specific colors of flowers and the unique messages conveyed are as below:

Roses: A popular survey denotes that the most widely preferred color is the innately classic rose. Most women the world over, prefer roses to other flowers on Valentines Day. Deep red colored ones symbolize passionate and true love. In recent times, women have shown preference for colors other than the traditional red. Peach is for admiration so is the color orange while white roses symbolized innocence and purity. A bunch of mixed roses connote varied emotions and heartfelt passion towards the special someone. Pink roses are symbolic of poetic romance while purple ones denote majestic glory. If 'love at first sight' is what you wish to convey then lilac is the color for you.

Lilies: Lilies are quite popular as valentine flowers and akin to roses, the different colors denote different messages. Oriental lilies with large blooms are a favorite among women that prefer class and quality over quantity. A bunch of full bloomed lilies are perfect for the one you love, hence they make great valentine flowers.

Carnations: Carnations are exquisite looking and make ideal gifts for Valentines Day. They are the second most popular flowers to be gifted on Valentines Day. They have a feminine aura about them which makes them all the more appealing to the recipient.

Gerberas: These flowers add a contemporary touch to valentine gifting and make great gifts for all age groups. They have a fresh feel and look exquisite in mushy posies which may be accompanied with messages and other customized gifts.
Valentine flowers certainly speak better than words but the gifts are nicer when they appeal to the recipient. So, know the recipient's choice before opting to say it with flowers. Choose right and celebrate love, the floral way.

Valentine's Day Flowers - Things You Need to Know

Roses always work, but you want your flowers not merely to "work", but also express something that you and your loved one have only for the two of you. The best Valentine's Day flowers aren't found in supermarkets; they are specially made for the occasion. Visiting a florist will ensure that you'll get the best bouquet possible, and will come across as original. Furthermore, most florists offer valentines flower delivery directly to the door, for even more romance.

If you really want to stick to roses, get to know what they symbolize. A red rose symbolize love, whereas a white one means innocence or purity. Yellow ones are friendship, but pink roses symbolize happiness. As a rule, you'd give white roses on Valentine's day to someone who knows you for a brief period of time, or for someone you treasure like a child. If you include roses other than white, you can explain the meaning of them in a note, connect it somehow to your relationship and come across as intelligent.

The best Valentine's Day flowers will consist mostly of red, but don't be afraid to experiment. Think of her personality: if she's more the outgoing type, try mixing in wildflowers, cornflowers and wild grasses, if she's more of a conservative girl, you can go for roses more. Chances are that, if you've taken the time to make a beautiful arrangement, she'll notice it. Be, however, sure that you include her favorites flowers in the bouquet--you can't ignore them. The same stands true for her favorites color.

As a side note, never include baby's breath in the bouquet, and never buy flowers at a convenience store, except if you buy single flowers for making your own arrangement. Flower delivery is a good option for enhancing the romance flowers surround.

Overall, if you take your time to be original, there isn't that much you can do wrong with flowers, so go ahead and start making a special bouquet for your special lady.
